The upgrade kit allows you to use stronger
16g co2 cylinders. You’ll get 39 joules on the first shot, and about 23 joules on the fifth shot.
The upgrade requires a stronger polyurethane o’ring and a bolt guide that has a different size groove cut for it. Just changing the o’ring won’t do.
The kit also includes a hard PTFE o’ring for around the piercing pin, in the manifold. The soft Viton o’ring works properly but can become dislodged if the co2 is removed too quickly. Excess gas can displace the o’ring if not vented slowly.

The bolt guide is just a swap. Be careful not to cross thread the bolt guide while removing it.
And the PTFE manifold o’ring requires digging out the soft Viton o’ring, squeezing it in the manifold, and forcing it in place using an empty co2 cylinder.
